I conceived this album during the last of my business trips to Burkina Faso. I keep a manufacturing company of various projects on medicinal plants and ethnobotany.
While exploring in the bush I stopped to hear what these hostile landscapes transmitted. Full of energy, I travelled through sudden passages, a lush savanna and shortly after an almost lunar landscape is where I found the area where I was inspired.
Nouna is a town about 250 km west of the capital of Burkina Faso, the red soil and reverb sounded great with the sun is blinding during the day. During the time of sunset everything was saturated with a beautiful scarlet red that transformed the area into a more soothing and relaxing tone. Vibrations that inspired visions pushed my mind to see beyond what the mind can seem rational. The architecture of a mirage is almost always the fear that we have within and hostile lands always bring about these fears.
For the people of Nouna, the trees are sacred and animal sacrifices are often performed to keep the spirits who live in them placated. In fact, most of the album is devoted to these important organisms that I have learned to respect.
